With over twenty years of experience working in mental health services Dr Alexandra Lagaisse is a qualified Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate from the University of Nottingham, Masters from world-renowned Schumacher college and Psychology undergraduate degree from Warwick University.

Using a range of theoretical backgrounds to inform the work, she consistently holds a very human approach. Drawing from training in Compassionate Mind, EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic and Attachment theories she pulls together a bespoke plan for each individual. Relationship being the most powerful tool to support someone's growth in a non-pathologising context.

Dr Lagaisse also has studied with some of the leading thinkers in philosophy, science and consciousness studies, which means she has a holistic and grounded worldview.

Working with all presentations whether that be a diagnosis or a sense of wanting to work through life's challenges, Dr Lagaisse is a specialist working with trauma, which can mean many different things; PTSD arising from war combat, relational traumas and other harder to pin down difficulties.

Through her work, Dr Lagaisse has become increasingly concerned with what is happening with the masculine in our culture and she is currently working on a book using her clinical experience to identify themes that could help men and their families.

"Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love"
